EL PASO AND SOUTHWESTERN GREENWAY
PUBLIC OUTREACH EVENTS
The El Paso & Southwestern Greenway is a linear park with a walking and biking path, lighting, and landscaping that will connect Downtown Tucson with South Tucson, the Kino Environmental Restoration Project and The Loop. Some portions of the Greenway have already been constructed, and the City of Tucson and City of South Tucson are currently working on an extension to provide access to 26 parks, 10 schools, and 2 libraries along a 6-mile Greenway.
Public outreach is currently focused on the 36th Street: Sixth Avenue to Kino Parkway segment, shown on the map below. A separate but related City of Tucson voter-approved Proposition 407 project, the 36th Street Pedestrian Safety & Walkability Project, will fill gaps in the sidewalk, install/upgrade curb ramps, and add landscaping and lighting along the north side of 36th Street from the City of Tucson/City of South Tucson city limits at the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks Union Pacific Railroad to Country Club Road.

This Greenway extension project is funded by Proposition 407 Tucson Delivers Strong Connections program, a bond package approved by voters in 2018 to fund improvements to parks and construction of new bicycle and pedestrian routes.
