Rep. Grijalva Announces Opening of Application Portal for Restaurant Revitalization Fund, Urges Local Restaurants to Apply
TUCSON— Today, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva announced that restaurants in Southern Arizona can apply for direct relief through the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. Applicants can apply directly with the Small Business Administration using the application portal beginning Monday, May 3 at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund was created by the American Rescue Plan and incorporated many provisions of the RESTAURANT Act that Rep. Grijalva cosponsored in the previous Congress.
“Southern Arizona’s vibrant restaurant industry is one of the things that makes our communities so special,” said Rep. Grijalva. “Despite difficult business closures under the public health emergency, restaurants have worked throughout the pandemic to creatively keep their businesses running and keep their workers employed. I’m proud that we passed the American Rescue Plan to provide restaurants with the relief they deserve.”
The Restaurant Revitalization Fund will provide restaurants and other eligible businesses with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business. The relief does not have to be repaid, provided that the funds are put toward eligible uses by March 11, 2023.
