Permits

Permit applications require 2 physical copies of a site and a floor plan.  (If your property is located on the list of flood-prone properties provided on this page, your application will require a full set of digital plans in addition to 2 physical copies of a site and floor plan). 

New construction or alterations, expansions, and modifications to existing structures within flood-prone properties are also required to submit an Elevation Certificate. 

Applications with the site and floor plans are to be submitted in person or mailed/shipped to City Hall, 1601 S 6th Ave, South Tucson, AZ 85713. All plans must be drawn to scale, where a ¼ inch equals one foot.

All commercial properties require a licensed contractor/structural engineer.  All contractors, regardless of whether the property is residential or commercial, must be licensed within the City of South Tucson.

The City of South Tucson has adopted the 2012 IBC, 2012 IRC, 2012 Maintenance Code and the 2011 NEC.

Permit pricing is dependent on the valuation of proposed permit activity.

Please allow a minimum of one week for permit review and processing.
